 My name is Jessica Sunday and I was born in October of 1994. I was raised in a Christian home, and attending church was a non-negotiable in our family. Unless we were sick, we would be at church every Sunday for Sunday school, Sunday morning service, and Sunday evening service. Oh, and do not forget the mid-week service on Wednesdays. I pretty much attended church ever since I was a baby in the church nursery! So you had better believe I knew all the Bible stories. I could probably recite them to you backwards if you wanted me too! Although I grew up in church my whole life, not to mention attended private school my whole life, I did not receive

Jesus Christ as my personal Savior until I was 10 years old!

That is when my life truly changed! I was a new creature! Old things were passed away, and all things became new! I had a new focus and a new zeal. I wanted to  serve God with my life. Whatever He wanted me to do and  wherever He wanted me to go - I would!

Because I was so thrilled with this new found salvation, I believed God wanted me to be a missionary to Africa! Then, I desired to be a Pastor's wife and the list probably went on. From the time I was little though, I really believed the Lord was calling me to be a teacher.  Up until about two months before graduating high school, my heart was STILL set on teaching. I believe the Lord had different plans. Two months before graduating, my great grandmother passed away, and I believed He was now leading me to be a nurse. This scared me! Most people who know me know that science and math are my weakest subjects. Then a thought came to me. God can use even my weaknesses to exalt Him! Praise the Lord for that! My goal is to use my nursing degree to go on medical missions trips someday. The Lord has truly blessed me with giving me an opportunities to explore different countries in medical and mission's outreaches. I have been to Nicaragua and Peru for mission's work.  It is evident that I  have a heart for missions, and the Lord needs more willing and devoted hearts to advance His kingdom.

The verse that I want to live out in my life is found in James 1:27 which reads, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." I want to strive to help orphans and widows in my life. I believe I can do that through nursing. I cannot wait to see what the Lord continues to do in my life. Whatever work He does through me, may the name of the Lord be glorified.

My prayer is that this blog can be an inspiration and encouragement to many people, and ultimately, God's name is magnified! Please have an open heart and see what the Lord can do through your life. He has a wonderful plan for you!
